Aaron Yearwood, LCSW, LISW-CP, LCASA

Hello, I’m Aaron!

I’m originally from Greenville, SC, but moved to the Charlotte area with my wife in 2020. I earned both my B.S. in Experimental Psychology and Master of Social Work from the University of South Carolina. After moving to Charlotte, I spent several years working in mental health care and later obtained my LCASA to focus more directly on supporting individuals impacted by substance and behavioral addiction along with related challenges.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked across a range of settings - including overseeing a grant aimed at integrating primary and behavioral health services across North Carolina, facilitating group therapy for individuals with substance use and co-occurring disorders, supporting students and families in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg school system, and providing individual and family therapy services in a private outpatient setting.

My path began with child advocacy work during undergrad, where I came to believe that adversity doesn’t define us - it reveals our capacity for resilience. My own experiences with mental health challenges and sobriety allow me to connect with clients in an authentic, meaningful, and empathetic way while guiding them in developing tools for growth and healing.

Outside of work, you can find me spending time with my wife and three beautiful children. I find balance through music, art, kayaking, hiking, primitive camping, golfing, video games, and spending time with friends and family. I have a special interest in philosophy which I commonly integrate into therapeutic conversations. My love for the outdoors leads me to encouraging my clients to spending time in nature as part of their own self-care.
